The three top political parties on Tuesday told representatives of National Consensus Campaign for Peace and Constitution (NCCP) they are committed to resolving the political crisis through dialogue. NCCP was formed by the media fraternity on Monday to mount pressure on the parties to come to terms.
UCPN (Maoist) Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal, Nepali Congress acting President Sushil Koirala and CPN-UML Chairman Jhala Nath Khanal on Tuesday had separate meetings with a delegation of NCCP.
NCCP consists of Federation of Nepali Journalists (FNJ), Nepal Media Society, Television Broadcasters’ Association, Broadcasting Association of Nepal and Association of Community Radio Broadcasters’. The NCCP delegation held talks with Dahal and Khanal on Monday and Koirala on Tuesday. The delegation also met Prime Minister Madhav Kumar Nepal. “Nepal and leaders of the three parties have pledged to break the deadlock on the basis of unity and consensus,” a statement issued by the NCCP on Tuesday said. Nepal Media Society Chairman Kailash Sirohiya and FNJ President Dharmendra Jha are jointly coordinating the efforts.

माओवादी आमहडताल सफल पार्न काठमाडौं लगिएका सिन्धुपाल्चोक, दोलखा, रामेछाप, सिन्धुलीका बासिन्दा कार्यक्रमको बीचमै र्फकने क्रममा बाटोमा अलपत्र परेका छन् । बाटामा बास नपाएका तथा खानाखर्च र सवारी साधन अभावमा उनीहरूको दैनिकी कष्टकर बनेको हो । 'आज कहाँ गएर बस्ने हो ठेगान छैन,' हडतालका क्रममा खान र बस्न असजिलो भएको भन्दै सिन्धुली कपिलाकोट र्फकंदै गरेका हर्कबहादुर तामाङले पनौतीमा राजधानीसँग भने, 'साह्रै नै बिचल्लीमा परियो, उता -काठमाडौं) फकौर्ं भने छाडेर हिँडियो, घर जाउFm त खर्च छैन, हिँड्न खुट्टा चलेन ।' एक दिन पैदल हिँडेपछि तामाङ मोटर चढेर काठमाडौं पुगेका थिए । घर पुग्न उनले अझै दर्ुइ दिन पैदल हिँड्नुपर्नेछ । Read more..
